Refresh 61st & Peoria

Our city needs to invest in 61st and Peoria.

One way we could do that is by recruiting 1-2 popular businesses to build at the intersection. While Tulsans flock to the nearby Brookside, this intersection is often intentionally avoided. We can change that by drawing people to the area with a novel restaurant or shopping experience. (Imagine the turn out if there was an In-and-Out!)

Furthermore, 61st and Peoria has more pedestrian traffic than most areas of town, and the local pedestrians deserve a better experience.

The transformation at 11th & Lewis can provide a model of what the intersection could look like--upscale lighting, trees, sidewalks, and crosswalks.

Murals by neighborhood artists could also add beauty.

This intersection has so much potential if the city chooses to invest in it. The residents deserve a better 61st and Peoria.
